Seminar is an integral part of culture at Urban Action Academy. Small groups of students and one advisor meet regularly to work on academic and social skills.

Each week in seminar we have discussions on a topics relevant to the unit of study. These topics range from college and career options, to current events, to personal issues or issues within the UAA community.

Academic Progress
Through individual conferences with their teacher, students receive constant feedback on academic progress . 

Independent Reading
Every week students will devote specific time to read independently.

Student Government
Each seminar will elect one representative who will attend regular meetings facilitated by an UAA teacher. The representative’s job is to report the concerns and ideas of fellow classmates in seminar in order to make our school a better place.
